The Blanton is one of the foremost university art museums in the country and the largest and most comprehensive collection of art in Central Texas. The Blanton’s permanent collection is recognized for its European paintings, prints and drawings, and modern and contemporary American and Latin American art. Also available for viewing are Ellsworth Kelly’s Austin, a chapel-like environment of color, form, and light; several immersive art installations in the museum’s recently transformed outdoor plaza; and The Floating World, a temporary exhibition of Edo period Japanese prints and painted scrolls.
We will carpool from the WHPC upper parking lot. Plan to arrive at 9:30 a.m. for a 9:45 a.m. departure.
