WHPC has partnered with Mission Presbytery and Ezequiel Herrera who is planting a church called New Life Faith Community (Comunidad de Fe Nueva Vida) in McAllen, Texas. Ezequiel is also the evangelist for Mission Presbytery.
Vision
To see prison inmates around the world living a life of hope and freedom only found in Jesus Christ.
Mission
To equip prison inmates through biblical discipleship for a life of hope and freedom in Jesus Christ.
Faith-based Dorms
Faith-based dorms are the flagship of the ministry, with discipleship taking place in dormitories that have been dedicated to the ministry’s use. Faith-based dorms have been established in the Travis State Jail on FM 969 (men) and the Coleman Unit in Lockhart (women). Inmates who have shown an interest in and been accepted into the program are housed in these dorms.
This setting, where offenders live 24 hours a day for six months, serves as a community of love and unity, creating and fostering an environment of peace and discipline where volunteers provide avenues for participants to grow close to God, to grow in Christ-likeness, and to change for the better.
WHPC provides annual opportunities for middle and high school students to participate in local and global mission experiences.
Students are also welcomed to participate in our local mission projects including food preparation and truck runs with Mobile Loaves and Fishes (LINK), feeding the unhoused with Foundation for the Homeless (LINK), helping prepare Blue Bags for Manos de Christo and more!
