Thanks to the congregation’s generous donations, WHPC was able to give away over $54,000 to partners in Central Texas and Nicaragua as they cope with the coronavirus pandemic and its social and economic effects.

Part of the special offering went to AMOS Health & Hope in Nicaragua, to provide personal protective equipment (PPE) and other support for clinics and their communities coping with COVID-19. Other recipients in Nicaragua were schools, Colegio Cristiano Presbiteriano and Eden Center, which provide not only education, but also food and vital social support to families.
Half of the offering was distributed in Central Texas by our partners Manos de Cristo and Presbyterian Children’s Homes and Services (PCHAS). A portion of the donation to PCHAS will go toward PPE for staff, while other funds will provide emergency assistance to families in economic need due to the current crisis.
